HVAC
Heating, ventilation, air conditioning and control is a collective term for what HVAC covers. In general, a building must be climate-controlled, and this must be individually designed and adapted according to the requirements of the HVAC system under current legislation. Allan Ploug A/S are specialists in insulating HVAC systems to comply with current norms and regulations, including DS 452 and its bibliography.
In HVAC systems, system types can vary and may work in combination with each other. Therefore, it is important to have knowledge of these types of systems so that you can guarantee quality – primarily in execution, but also in a consultative context, when a HVAC system is being designed.
Allan Ploug A/S carries out HVAC systems, and our competent employees are happy to participate in design and planning meetings to ensure that the project gets off to a good start.

Important to know the different types
In order to be able to adapt individual insulation types to a HVAC system, one must have good knowledge of the different HVAC system types in which technical insulation is required.
The typical HVAC systems are as follows:
- Heating plant
- Ventilation plant
- Refrigeration equipment
Heating/cooling systems are usually installations that ensure and control the heating and cooling of a building.
For example, heating systems can be water-borne systems that distribute water to heaters such as radiators, underfloor heating, etc. The heat sources can be of different types and the heating system can be heated in different ways, including:
- Central heating
- District heating
- Natural gas
- Oil
- Biomass boilers
- Ventilation plant
- Refrigeration equipment
- Air to air system
- Air to ground system
- Geothermal heating
- Solar heating
Cooling systems consist of systems able to cool a building. The cooling energy is most often generated by a refrigeration compressor. There are also plants that extract energy from seawater or groundwater. This avoids the use of compressors, which use a lot of energy. The cooled medium (water, brine or glycol solutions) is distributed to points of consumption via a piping system. The distribution of cooling in the building can take place by cooling air via:
- Central cooling
- Air cooling
- Cooling radiation (cooling baffles)
In order for a heating/cooling system to meet a building’s needs, with our expertise and competent employees, Allan Ploug A/S is able to assist with consulting and execution in relation to current requirements, including DS 469 Heating and cooling systems in buildings and its bibliography. Thus, we can ensure that the system complies with the insulation requirements.
Ventilation systems consist of duct installations which move air around the building and, at the same time, ensure that air exchange takes place between the air inside a building and the outside air.
The air can be heated or cooled so that the individual building’s climate needs are covered and compliance is ensured regarding BR18 and DS 447 Ventilation in buildings – Mechanical natural and hybrid ventilation systems. In addition, we are familiar with DS428 and can assist with technical solutions that comply with this standard.
We are specialists in HVAC systems
There are many types of ventilation system, but at Allan Ploug A/S we are specialists in insulation and are happy to assist in designing and performing necessary insulation tasks, where DS 452 and DS 428 are complied with. With our experience and expertise, we ensure that the building can be put into use after delivery to the client.
