At Allan Ploug A/S, we are looking for a new estimator to join our technical insulation department. This is a unique opportunity to become part of a company that has been among Denmark’s leading specialists in technical insulation, passive fire protection and environmental remediation for more than 40 years.
You do not need years of experience to apply. We are looking for a recent graduate or someone early in their careerwho is keen to learn the profession from the ground up and help us develop our estimating function. We would also like you to be curious about new technologies and interested in how AI and digital tools can support the future of tendering and cost estimating.
Our estimating team currently consists of two experienced colleagues with many years of combined industry experience. We now want to strengthen the team with a new colleague who can learn the profession, take on more responsibility as they develop and, over time, help shape our approach to tendering and cost estimating.
Your responsibilities
As an estimator, your responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing tender documents and project specifications
- Preparing quantity take-offs and cost estimates for insulation projects
- Obtaining quotations from suppliers and partners
- Preparing quotations and cost calculations
- Working closely with project managers, clients and colleagues
- Helping develop our estimating processes and tools
You will receive thorough training in both the technical field and the systems we use.
We are looking for someone who:
- Is a recent graduate or has a few years of professional experience
- Has a technical qualification, for example in architectural technology and construction management, marine engineering and technology management, electrical or plumbing installation, energy technology or a related field
- Is curious and keen to learn about a specialist technical field
- Takes a structured and analytical approach to their work
- Has good IT skills and an interest in numbers and technical subjects
- Is open to new digital tools and interested in how AI and technology can support and improve estimating and tendering processes
- Enjoys working with both colleagues and clients
